The phrase "Tikkun Olam," meaning "Repairing the World," is artfully
written in Hebrew on this original Sophia & Chloe design. This term
denotes our responsibility to improve and repair our earthly
surroundings, and to help create a better existence for ourselves and
others through acts of kindness, financial support to those in true
need, and a commitment to social justice. In keeping with this
tradition, Sophia & Chloe will be donating 25% of our website sales
of all Tikkun Olam designs to Kiva.
Kiva's mission is to
alleviate poverty through microfinance lending. Of the 25% donation,
half will go to Kiva's operating expenses, and the other half will go
directly to microloans. As the microloans are repaid, they can be easily
turned over into subsequent microloans to additional entrepreneurs.
Kiva's microloans are a perfect example of how we can all make a
difference! To learn more about Kiva, please visit www.kiva.org
